The library provides research instruction sessions tailored to your assignments and your students' learning needs. Library instruction is available on any campus for any class with a research assignment or library-related activity.
- Requests for instruction should be placed at least two weeks in advance of your preferred date(s). Placing your request early in the term raises the probability that we will be able to schedule your class for your first choice of dates.
- Instruction is usually scheduled in a classroom with computers, so that students can practice the research skills they learn.
- Your presence in the class is essential to student learning and is required for all library sessions. Collaboration between the librarian and the classroom instructor enhances student success.
- Students should be familiar with the research assignment or aware of and prepared for the learning activity before the library session. They get the most out of the session if they know they will need to use the skills and ideas that are presented.
- Librarians will be happy to work with you to develop or refine research assignments and to create the most effective learning experience for your students.
To schedule library instruction, please send e-mail to library@atlanticcape.edu.
