Transfer Students

Transfer/Articulation Agreements

Transferring from Atlantic Cape Community College

Articulation agreements are transfer partnerships between two-year and four-year colleges that allow for the smooth transition of students from community colleges to four-year institutions. Atlantic Cape has transfer agreements with four-year colleges and universities to help you transition into a bachelor's degree program. These agreements define how courses you complete at Atlantic Cape will be evaluated for transfer credit when you transfer to a participating institution. Although Atlantic Cape graduates may transfer to colleges/universities throughout the US, they may want to take advantage of one of the articulation agreements below. For more information on the specific agreement, click on a school below.

If your preferred institution is not listed, this does not mean you cannot transfer there. It simply means we do not have a specific agreement with that school & you must follow their admission/transfer requirements to have your credits & degree evaluated. Typically any college-level course, completed with a grade of "C" or better is eligible to transfer. However, it is always the receiving institution's decision if or how to apply those credits to their programs.

For information & updates on a specific articulation agreement or to schedule a virtual transfer advisement meeting, contact Kristi Collemacine

3+1 Pathways Program  Students now have the opportunity to transfer up to 90 credits toward more than 50 baccalaureate programs of study at Thomas Edison State University. The TESU/NJ 3+1 Pathways Program application, step five, will ask the student/applicant to self-identify with which partner institution (Atlantic Cape) they are affiliated.  Students should be on track to graduate with an associates degree, apply & pay for a graduation audit via their WebAdvisor account, & request official transcripts (at application and again once all coursework is completed) from National Student Clearing House. If accepted to TESU, students will work with a TESU advisor to select coursework for the additional 30 credits (post associates).

Visiting Colleges & Universities

It's never too early to start planning your transfer. Four-year college/university admission requirements & application deadlines will vary by college. Research and planning are crucial for your continued success. There are many benefits of completing your associate degree at Atlantic Cape, especially if you are transferring somewhere covered under the Statewide Transfer agreement or to a program which is covered by an articulation agreement. Search Transfer Events for NJ colleges & universities via NJTransfer events search.

Do you have at least 42 credits completed? Log into your Self Service accounts and apply for graduation (fee). Make sure your address is correct & your name is spelled correctly for diploma production. This is required and is the official word on your remaining coursework, from the Registrar's Office. It also lets us know how you want your name on your diploma & where to mail your diploma once all requirements are completed & verified.

Request official Atlantic Cape Community College transcripts through the National Student Clearinghouse.  There is a fee for each transcript requested. You should send a transcript when you apply to transfer and an updated transcript once your courses are complete and degree has been granted.

Upcoming Transfer Visits may be found by visiting the college Events Calendar.  Transfer events for spring 2022 semester are held virtually and on campus.

Review your Progress via Self Service Student Planning on your Self Service student planner. Speak with an advisor each semester! Advising Information. Learn which classes you need for your degree and plan ahead to get a schedule that fits your needs.

College and University Transfer Visit Guidelines

Our goal at Atlantic Cape Community College is to provide opportunities that connect and engage our students and assist in creating an academic and career pathway that leads to their degree completion and transferring process.

We encourage all visiting colleges and Universities to provide transferring information to our students and we ask that you include the importance of completing their Associate’s Degree with Atlantic Cape
Community College before they transfer.

All transfer visit colleges and Universities can have an information table once a semester at each campus (Mays Landing, Atlantic City, and Cape May) which equates to three visits a semester.

The requests cannot be three visits at the same campus in one semester.

Please contact Kristi Collemacine at kcollema@atlantic.edu – (609) 463-3993 and Dr. Tammy DeFranco tadefran@atlantic.edu – (609) 463-8113 for any questions.

Important Information

Atlantic Cape is proud to boast of over 28 transfer/articulation agreements with two-year and four-year colleges.  These transfer agreements allow the smooth transition of students from community colleges to four-year institutions.  Atlantic Cape students are encouraged to consider transferring to schools that we already have agreements and partnerships with in order to take full advantage of transfer advisors and scholarships.

If you do not see your desired transfer institution on the list of articulation agreements, this does not mean you cannot apply to transfer to that school. It means we currently do not have a formal agreement.  You will want to follow the school's specific transfer admissions process.

Grades (GPA) and courses taken are key to determining transferability of courses. It is always the decision of the receiving institution (transfer school) which credits will be accepted and how they will apply towards your desired program with that institution.

Transfer target deadlines for many schools are typically Nov. 1 for spring enrollment or March 1 for fall enrollment. This may vary. Consult the catalog or Web page for your target school for application deadlines.

Advisors are available to assist you in this process.

Atlantic Cape's CEEB school code is 2024. This is often requested on transfer applications.

Planning to transfer? Remember to file your FAFSA (federal aid) & HESAA (state aid) early & include the college/university to which you are applying. FAFSA must be completed each year, for the upcoming school year.

2022-2023 FAFSA (& NJFAMs for State aid) is OPEN & should be submitted for Fall 2022/Spring 2023 semesters.

After you submit your FAFSA, log into your Self Service (formerly WebAdvisor) Self-Service to view financial aid information for any additional required documents, to view the status of your aid, or view your award (if applicable).

*Check with your transfer institution for their preferred FAFSA submission due date.

Transcripts

Atlantic Cape Community College transcript requests are now being processed through the National Student Clearinghouse and can only be requested Online through their website.  There is a fee for each transcript requested.

Please contact register@atlantic.edu or call (609) 343-5662 if you have questions regarding the transcript request process.
