Celebrating Heroes Among Us: Spotlight on DiChera Helm

DiChera Helm has been a cardiac nurse in the ICU for Inspira Health for almost two years. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2015 from Rutgers University. She also completed certification as a Critical Care Registered Nurse and is board certified as a medical-surgical nurse through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. All of the ICUs in the hospital where she works were converted to COVID units.

A leader in producing future nurses and healthcare workers, Atlantic Cape Community College donated hundreds of personal protective equipment (PPE) items from its nursing program to those who are working on the front lines. Thanks to the college’s Foundation and Student Engagement department, large bags of foods, along with ShopRite gift cards, were handed out to students in need.

Plans To Host A Drone Kick-Starter Competition

Atlantic Cape signed a Subaward Agreement with Sinclair College of Ohio to partner in the National Science Foundation-funded project, “Educating Entrepreneurial Technicians for Unmanned Aerial Systems.” The subaward began this fall and continues through Sept. 30, 2022. One of the capstones of this partnership will be a drone kick-starter program hosted by Sinclair College at Atlantic Cape, dates to be announced.
