Description: Identification Badges
Adopted: 11/11/11
In an effort to provide a secure, safe teaching and learning environment for all who work, study and visit Atlantic Cape Community College, the following procedure is implemented as a way of identifying college personnel, students, and guests using college facilities at any of Atlantic Cape's campuses.
*Faculty, Staff, and Students: The College Identification Badge (CIB) is issued to faculty and staff at time of hire and to students upon registration. All faculty, staff and students of Atlantic Cape are required to prominently display their (CIB) at all times and in all areas and buildings while on campus.
At Mays Landing Campus, members of the College staff or student body who do not have their CIB on their person are required to report to the following designated offices to be issued a TEMPORARY DAY PASS (TDP):
- Division Office (faculty)
- Human Resources (faculty and staff)
- Student Center (current and returning students)
The Faculty/Staff/Student or Potential Student TDP must be prominently displayed at all times and in all areas and buildings while on campus. The Faculty/Staff/ Student or Potential Student TDP should be returned to the office by the recipients when leaving the campus.
- Division Office (faculty)
- Human Resources (staff)
- Student Center (current and returning students)
- At Worthington and Cape May Courthouse Campuses, members of the College staff or student body who do not have their CIB on their person will be issued at TDP at the Front Desk/Welcome Center.
Guests:
All guests visiting Atlantic Cape are required to report to security to sign in and receive a Guest Day Pass (GDP). Visitors must display their GDP at all times where it can be clearly seen. Persons on campus without proper identification will be directed to security to obtain proper authorization to be on campus.- Security (VIPs and guest)
*Because different college personnel work and visit Atlantic Cape's campuses at different times during the year, and security personnel rotate due to shift work, face recognition is not a reliable method for approving entry to the campus. The use of such a recognition system could present a major breach in safety because it assumes that anyone in the building without a badge is a member of the college's staff or student body.
