This is a part-time position, 12-16 hours per week. ,most hours are weekdays, day shift , occasionally night. The position is primarily at the Cape May County Campus, but may include opportunities at the other Atlantic Cape campuses as well. The successful candidate will work together with the library and academic support staff to provide excellent service to Atlantic Cape students and faculty.

Description:

We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative person to work part time at the Atlantic Cape Community College library part time for the 2019-2020 academic year. 

 Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Carry out library circulation desk functions such as patron registration, inter-library loan, shelving, holds and managing reserves.
  • Assist students, staff and classes with locating print materials and utilizing electronic library resources and online research databases.
  • Assist students and staff with navigating online courses, using Internet resources and computer programs such as Microsoft Office and Google Drive, using scanners and printers.
  • Answer telephone calls, record statistics, enter data into spreadsheets or databases, assist with scheduling tutor appointments.
  • Good communication with coworkers and supervisors is essential.
  • Maintain an organized and clean facility. Light housekeeping duties required.
Minimum Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED is required, associate degree or higher is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware is required: computers, printers, scanners, copiers, projectors, etc.
  • Basic proficiency with popularly used software applications, especially MS Office, Google applications, and Internet use.
  • Ability to assist students with math, writing, or foreign language is a plus.
  • Experience working in a library, school or other learning environment also is helpful.
  • Desire to work in a dynamic and diverse academic environment.
  • The ability to work effectively with people of widely varying skills and abilities is essential as is a commitment to patron service.
