This is a part-time position / 16 hours per week General Description: Nursing Laboratory Associate supports the functioning of the Nursing Laboratory and provides assistance to faculty and students.

Duties:
  • Reports to the Assistant Dean, Nursing and Health Science
  • Assists the Senior Laboratory Manager with laboratory skills instruction, ATI proctoring, simulation, and content tutoring
  • Assists the Senior Laboratory Manager with the staffing of nursing personnel for skills lab and simulation experiences
  • Assists the Senior Laboratory Manager with the operations of the clinical laboratories to include laboratory skills and simulation preparation and clean up
  • Assists the Senior Laboratory Manager with tracking, ordering, and managing inventory, including repair and replacement of broken equipment
  • Assists the Senior Laboratory Manager with records and updates on additions or changes in the laboratory environment
  • Maintains standards of practice for the nursing laboratory as they apply to the State Board of Nursing and OSHA under the supervision of the Senior Laboratory Manager
  • Maintains a professional attitude and serves as a role model for nursing
  • Maintains competency in all areas of patient care
  • Participates in college-wide and nursing department orientations and continuing education
  • Adheres to the Nursing Laboratory Dress Code, which includes professional attire with a white lab coat and college identification
  • Adheres to all applicable College and Nursing Program Policies and Procedures
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • License to practice as a Registered Nurse in New Jersey
  • Minimum of one year of patient care clinical experience
  • Ability to review course content and laboratory skills for all areas of nursing
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Position requires day and evening hours
  • Position requires completion of Blackboard and ATI Training
