Q: What are your plans after graduating?
A: I will be attending a four-year college.

Q: Why did you choose Atlantic Cape?
A: I wanted to push myself and see if I could earn my associate’s degree while attending high school. I took Dual Enrollment courses and extra courses online.

Q: What opportunities has Atlantic Cape provided you?
A: It has given me an advantage when applying to four-year colleges and scholarships to show others what I am capable of and why I deserve to be accepted.

Q: What activities, clubs or sports were you involved with during your time at Atlantic Cape?
A: Since I was still in high school all of my activities were done at Lower Cape May Regional (LCMR) High School. I played Varsity Tennis and Cheerleading, Student Government Class President all four years, Key Club President, Spring Musical, 4 H Club, Morgan's Message, Students Against Destructive Decisions, National Honor, Spanish National Honor and Tri M Music Honor Societies.

Q: Describe the biggest challenge(s) you faced and how you overcame it/them.
A: The biggest challenge I was able to overcome was doing work for college and high school at the same time. I took advanced classes at LCMR with additional online classes at Atlantic Cape. The workload was a lot to handle sometimes, but I was able to pull through. The professors at Atlantic Cape were very understanding and supportive throughout my educational journey.

A: Online.

Q: Who would you like to thank for helping you achieve your college or career goals?
A: I want to express my gratitude to my parents for supporting me throughout my college journey. As well as the administrators at LCMR. At any point I had a question or needed help; they were all there for me. Everyone was rooting for me to succeed so that was a driving force in helping me graduate. My mom especially helped manage my schedule and took care of the registrations while I focused on the course work.

Q: What does graduating from Atlantic Cape mean to you?
A: It means that I know if I set a goal I am more than capable of achieving it. It means that no matter what happens in the future I have a degree completed and no one can take that away from me.

Q: What are your plans after graduating?
A: I will be attending a four-year college/university.

Q: Why did you choose Atlantic Cape?
A: I originally started Atlantic Cape when I was 18 to save money, but I dropped out after a semester. Following the COVID pandemic, at the age of 24, I decided I wanted to finish what I started, so here I am eight years later. 

Q: What opportunities has Atlantic Cape provided you?
A: This is the most effective way to finish my degree, to find the job opportunities in the field I want to go in to through paid work, and a community where I have developed friends and connections through the college’s student clubs. 

Q: What activities, clubs or sports were you involved with during your time at Atlantic Cape?
A: I was the editor of the Rewrites Literary Magazine and co-editor of the Atlantic Cape Review student newspaper 

Q: Describe the biggest challenge(s) you faced and how you overcame it/them.
A: During my first semester back following the pandemic, I experienced homelessness and kept my classes. I was able to maintain a 4.0 through those two semesters. Through it all, I got lucky and survived that period of my life. Now I know what I can overcome.

Q: Who would you like to thank for helping you achieve your college or career goals?
A: Professor Keith Forrest, who motivated me to attend in-person classes; Professor Rich Russell, who believed that I could be the editor of Rewrites; and Katherine Jaques, who helped me gain confidence in writing again.

Q: What does graduating from Atlantic Cape mean to you?
A: I can finish things I started. It means that everything that happened to me before meant something. It means I am where I should be.

Q:  What are your plans after graduating?
A:  After graduation I plan on working.

Q: Why did you choose Atlantic Cape?
A: It was close by and very affordable.

Q: What opportunities has Atlantic Cape provided you?
A: It provided me with education in the Radiologic Technology program.

Q: Describe the biggest challenge(s) you faced and how you overcame it/them.
A: The biggest challenge I faced were financial challenges. I was not eligible for financial aid until I was 25 years old, so I had to pay for classes out-of-pocket. Due to my financial circumstances, I worked two jobs while supporting myself through college at 18 years old, up to now at 27. When I started college at 18, I worked full-time, which led me to failing a few classes. I overcame this challenge by cutting down my hours at work to really focus on my college classes.

A: In-person and online

Q: Who would you like to thank for helping you achieve your college or career goals?
A: I would like to thank my Radiologic Technology professor Joanna Igoe and Kerry Raymond. They both motivated me every day to be the best Radiologic Technologist that I could become, and to further my education and career goals.

Q: What does graduating from Atlantic Cape mean to you?
A: I have been a student at Atlantic Cape for 10 years, so graduating means a lot to me. I am a prime example of, "you can do anything as long as you put your heart and soul into it." I did not have an easy educational experience because most things don't come easily to me. I also had to overcome many financial circumstances to even attend and had to work full-time to pay for classes myself.

Q: What are your plans after graduating?
A: I plan on attending Jefferson College and getting my master’s degree in Athletic Training.

Q: Why did you choose Atlantic Cape?
A: I went to Hawaii my first semester of college and ended up coming back home, so I chose Atlantic Cape as a quick way to get my degree and save some money before figuring out exactly where I needed to be.

Q: What opportunities has Atlantic Cape provided you?
A: Atlantic Cape has helped me improve in a lot of ways. Being on the Atlantic Cape volleyball team has helped me progress when it comes to communication and critical thinking. Atlantic Cape has helped me figure out what I need to do to get to where I want to later in life. Atlantic Cape has provided me with so many countless opportunities that I struggle to list them all.

Q: What activities, clubs or sports were you involved with?
A: The 2023 Women’s Volleyball team.

Q: Describe the biggest challenge(s) you faced and how you overcame it/them.
A: My biggest challenge was that I didn’t know what I wanted to do. It felt like I was behind in life. I was able to overcome this challenge with the help of Atlantic Cape. I had supportive professors and met great people along the way.

A: In-person, online and hybrid.

Q: Who would you like to thank for helping you achieve your college or career goals?
A: I was determined to achieve everything on my own and I was able to do so with the support of my two professors. The first one was my English professor, Stephanie Natale-Boianelli. She helped me with everything. She would always check up on me and make sure I stayed on top of my work. Our encounters on campus were always positive. The second professor that helped me achieve my goal was Professor Chris Carbone. I took Microbiology and he made sure we understood everything we were learning. I saw how he made each class very interesting and different so we never got bored or tired. He is a great professor and would sit with anyone who needed encouragement and extra help.

Q: What does graduating from Atlantic Cape mean to you?
A: It means that I can start the next chapter of my life and head to Jefferson to get my master’s degree.

Q: What are your plans after graduating?
A: I plan to pursue internships to gain valuable experience before completing my bachelor’s degree in General Management and International Business.

Q: Why did you choose Atlantic Cape?
A: When I began my search for colleges upon arriving in the United States, Atlantic Cape immediately caught my attention due to the positive student reviews. Moreover, the administrative staff were incredibly welcoming, helpful and amazing. I can't forget to mention the outstanding professors, including Professor Gamma, Professor DiNardo, Professor Perello and Professor Bruno.

Q: What opportunities has Atlantic Cape provided you?
A: Atlantic Cape has allowed me to meet new people, witness the essence of solidarity, and instilled in me the perseverance to relentlessly pursue my dreams and goals.

Q: What activities, clubs or sports were you involved with during your time at Atlantic Cape?
A: Hospitality Club and Science Club, plus I tried out for the soccer team too.

Q: Describe the biggest challenge(s) you faced and how you overcame it/them.
A: My greatest challenge was commuting via bus due to the absence of a car, alongside the necessity of taking statistical methods online. I tackled the transportation hurdle by purchasing a car, while I conquered the statistical methods course by completing it successfully, sparing myself from having to retake it.

Q: Who would you like to thank for helping you achieve your college or career goals?
A: First and foremost, I want to thank God and my family for providing the support and understanding I needed during tough times. Kelly Lavorgna's encouragement, affirming my intelligence and potential for success regardless of the journey's duration, has been invaluable. I'm deeply thankful to Professor Mark Camma, Professor Perello, Professor Janine DiNardo, Professor Crystal Hutchinson, and Professor Bruno for their guidance and mentorship. And finally, a special thanks to my baby sister for her unwavering love and support.

Q: What does graduating from Atlantic Cape mean to you?
A: It means the world to me because many doubted my ability to come this far, imposing limitations on me. However, I refused to be confined by others' expectations. I firmly believe that the only person who can limit or stop me is myself. Thus, reaching the podium holds immense significance in my life.

Q: What are your plans after graduating?
A: I plan to attend Montclair State University and major in Elementary Education.

Q: Why did you choose Atlantic Cape?
A: I chose Atlantic Cape because my high school offered a lot of dual credit classes. I decided to join the Early College program in my junior year so that I could earn college credits at a cheaper price.

Q: What opportunities has Atlantic Cape provided you?
A: Atlantic Cape has provided me with credits to transfer to a four-year university. It has taught me college coursework strategies while in high school and given me countless opportunities to get the college experience while in high school.

Q: What activities, clubs or sports were you involved with during your time at Atlantic Cape?
A: During my time at Atlantic Cape I was still in high school, so I was involved in my high school's cheer/dance team while also taking my Atlantic Cape classes.

Q: Describe the biggest challenge(s) you faced and how you overcame it/them.
A: My biggest challenge was balancing high school coursework with also college coursework. I had to learn new time management strategies to be able to succeed in both my places of education.

A: Online

Q: Who would you like to thank for helping you achieve your college or career goals?
A: I would like to thank my guidance counselor Ms. McAnany for getting me involved in the Atlantic Cape Early College program, as well as Andrea Enders for her never ending support in my Atlantic Cape journey. I would also like to thank my family and fellow early college classmates for always being there to help me when I was struggling. Lastly, I would like to thank the amazing professors whom I have gotten to know and respect, your support and understanding is not unseen!

Q: What does graduating from Atlantic Cape mean to you?
A: Graduating from Atlantic Cape means everything to me. As a first-generation college student, graduating from college as a senior in high school is very special to me. I am truly very lucky that I have gotten this opportunity to expand my education!

Q:  What are your plans after graduating?
A: I plan on going to Rutgers University in the fall to study for my bachelor’s degree.

Q:  Why did you choose Atlantic Cape?
A: Not only was the Atlantic Cape closer to home, but the major I wanted to pursue was not offered at any other college.

Q: What opportunities has Atlantic Cape provided you?
A: Attending Atlantic Cape has given me opportunities to learn about myself and test my will power. It has given me opportunities by connecting me to a lifelong network of colleagues, advisors, professors and mentors, who have supported me in this long, stressful journey.

Q: What activities, clubs or sports were you involved with at Atlantic Cape?
A: I have been inducted into the National Honors Society of Psychology.

Q: Describe the biggest challenge(s) you faced and how you overcame it/them.
A: The two most difficult things I've gone through in college are the deaths of my father and brother-in-law. While on his deathbed in December of 2021, my father forced me to make a college graduation pledge. Given the circumstances and the knowledge that those would be my final words to him, that was the hardest promise I could have made. He passed away in January of 2022. It became worse, just when I thought it couldn't get much worse. My brother-in-law passed away in his sleep at my residence in August of 2023. I was feeling utterly devastated at the time, like nothing mattered, not even school. However, I had to keep reminding myself that I made a promise, and I could not let grief overpower me. Not only did I overcome trials and tribulations reminding myself of that promise, but I did so by graduating with honors.

A: In-person.

Q: Who would you like to thank for helping you achieve your college or career goals?
A: My deepest gratitude goes out to my family, friends, and one very special teacher, Kyle Rooney. He never gave up on me and never let me fail, even though he was well aware of the terrible struggles I was facing. I express my gratitude to my oldest daughter Saniyah and my niece Shaylyn for spending many late hours with me, either to assist with my studies or to monitor my sons while I studied. Saniyah, I hope that having you come see me pick up my degree gives you confidence that you are capable of realizing your dreams. I hope this has given you even more inspiration to pursue your dream of becoming an autism activist. Thank you to everyone whocheered me on, you are deeply appreciated and I will never forget!

Q: What does graduating from Atlantic Cape mean to you?
A: Graduating from college with significant loss represents an unparalleled victory over misfortune. Be it a sad incident, the death of a loved one, or personal challenges, grief can be a debilitating and overwhelming feeling. It has the ability to quickly ruin your life and dash your dreams. Nonetheless, completing my associate’s degree in spite of such hardship is a testament to my unwavering determination and determined spirit. It demonstrates my capacity to persevere through difficult circumstances while achieving my academic objectives. When I am given my graduation cap, it marks the end of this chapter of my academic journey and the victory of the human spirit. It represents the ability to go through difficult circumstances and yet aim for the best possible future, as well as the transformational potential of education.

Q: What are your plans after graduating?
A: I will continue to work and further educate myself.

Q: Why did you choose Atlantic Cape?
A: It is more convenient for me considering my age and status.

Q: What opportunities has Atlantic Cape provided you?
A: Atlantic Cape makes it easier for me to go to college at my own pace considering the various events that have happened in my life.

Q: Describe the biggest challenge(s) you faced and how you overcame it/them.
A: My challenges consisted of trying to balance work, school and life. I was able to overcome these challenges with the help and support of my family, friends and work team.

Q: Who would you like to thank for helping you achieve your college or career goals?
A: Everyone, especially my late husband, and I am dedicating this certificate to him. My children for their support and understanding throughout this trying period. My immediate family and friends for all their words of encouragement. My work for being there when I wasn’t available to work.

Q: What does graduating from Atlantic Cape mean to you?
A: It means better opportunities and greater knowledge for my career.

Q: What are your plans after graduating?
A: My plans are to attend Rutgers University at Atlantic Cape for a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Social Work. I am currently working in an intern position at a substance use disorder treatment facility that provides outpatient and intensive outpatient care. I hope to further intern in mental health treatment.

Q: Why did you choose Atlantic Cape?
A: Because of its close proximity to home and my ability to utilize the Community College Opportunity Grant. Additionally, I was inspired to apply and attend after hearing the praise of many Atlantic Cape alumni.

Q: What opportunities has Atlantic Cape provided you?
A: I had the opportunity to intern at a local mental health and substance abuse disorder co-occurring treatment facility. Following my internship, I was hired by the facility and have been able to continue working toward my future career goals that began at Atlantic Cape.

Q: Describe the biggest challenge(s) you faced and how you overcame it/them.
A: Deciding to attend college was a hurdle that I never thought I would overcome. I dropped out of high school as a teenager because of poor grades due to mental health struggles and issues with school work because I am autistic. Later, I earned my GED and then decided to apply to Atlantic Cape during the Covid-19 pandemic when I was stuck at home and had time to consider my future. I struggled to believe I could pass the placement test, let alone succeed in classes. I managed to keep a cumulative GPA greater than 3.8 and I am now the first college graduate in my family.

Q: Who would you like to thank for helping you achieve your college or career goals?
A: I would like to thank all of the instructors in the Human Services program who provided inspiration and dedication to social service, social work and counseling. I would also like to thank the Center for Accessibility for offering students like me better opportunities for success and understanding.

Q: What does graduating from Atlantic Cape mean to you?
A: It means I will have the opportunity to pursue a career in the field I am most passionate about. It helped me prove to myself that I am capable of success. It means the world to me to be the first college graduate in my family, and gives me hope that I can provide future generations of my family with inspiration to chase their dreams no matter what.

Q: What are your plans after graduating?
A: I will be continuing in the 3+1 program through the fall at Atlantic Cape then graduating again with my degree in Advanced and Continuous Studies. I will attend Stockton University in the Spring of 2025.

Q: Why did you choose Atlantic Cape?
A: I originally started at Atlantic Cape because it is affordable and close to home. Once I enrolled, I realized it is so much more. The professors and staff are wonderful and always there to help you. Great selection of classes to choose from, and a wonderfully-inclusive and diverse student population too.

Q: What opportunities has Atlantic Cape provided you?
A: Atlantic Cape has continually provided me with a way to fulfill my dreams of becoming a college graduate, even at my advanced age. Atlantic Cape has shown me that I can be proud of my accomplishments.

Q: What activities, clubs or sports were you involved with during your time at Atlantic Cape?
A: Communication Awards Club (3 years), Rewrites (4 years), Atlantic Cape Review, Theater Arts Guild, Student Government Association Representative (2 years) and leading role in Theater Arts Guild play, "27 Ways to Screw Up Your College Interview."

Q: Describe the biggest challenge(s) you faced and how you overcame it/them.
A: One of my biggest challenges was being a full-time caregiver to my 82-year-old mother, who is blind and has Alzheimer's, while attending school and working. Atlantic Cape has a big selection of online, remote and hybrid classes which made it easier to take care of my mother and earn my degree. Although most of my assignments were completed and turned in well after midnight, I managed to do it!

Q: Who would you like to thank for helping you achieve your college or career goals?
A: Jean McAlister has been there for me since the night I decided that it was finally my time to start my college career. She has been there for me every step of the way and has been my light in the darkness. Thank you, Jean, from the bottom of my heart.

Q: What does graduating from Atlantic Cape mean to you?
A: It means that it's never too late to realize a lifelong dream. This school is here for you, to guide you, motivate you and cheer you on.

Q: What are your plans after graduating?
A: I am continuing my education to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing.

Q: Why did you choose Atlantic Cape?
A: Because Atlantic Cape has a quality Nursing program.

Q: What opportunities has Atlantic Cape provided you?
A: An adequate Nursing Clinical Experience and NCLEX Preparation.

Q: What activities, clubs or sports were you involved with during your time at Atlantic Cape?
A: Nursing Clinical & Sims Rotations.

Q: Describe the biggest challenge(s) you faced and how you overcame it/them.
A: A big challenge for me was working full-time while being a Full-time student in the Nursing Program. It was more than worth the effort as it has provided me with an amazing career opportunity upon my graduation and welcomed so many special people into my life. I'm very grateful for that experience.

Q: Who would you like to thank for helping you achieve your college or career goals?
A: My parents, friends, professors, co-workers, classmates, past and present. Rarely does someone accomplish their goals alone, and I'm fortunate to say that while at times I was alone, there was always a great network of people within my life who allowed me to be me and carry on.

Q: What does graduating from Atlantic Cape mean to you?
A: It's the celebration of a new beginning.

Q: What are your plans after graduating?
A: I am planning on attending a four-year college or university.

Q: Why did you choose Atlantic Cape?
A: After emigrating to the United States, I decided to pursue my education and I found the best option to start with was Atlantic Cape Community College.

Q: What opportunities has Atlantic Cape provided you?
A: Atlantic Cape has given me a lot of opportunities, such as helping me pursue my education without any out-of-pocket cost, with food when I was hungry, to work on my leadership skills, to create personal and professional connections that will help me in the long run.

Q:What activities, clubs or sports were you involved with during your time at Atlantic Cape?
A: I was the president of the Cross-Cultural Association, president of the Muslim Student Association, and president of the Student Government Association. I was also part of the Archery team as well.

Q: Describe the biggest challenge(s) you faced and how you overcame it/them.
A: My first language is not English, so when I first came to the United States, I had a difficult time understanding others and communicating. So, I started taking the ESL (English as Second Language) program and I gradually improved. Eventually, I overcame my fear of speaking up and became a student leader, who can advocate for other students.

Q: Who would you like to thank for helping you achieve your college or career goals?
A: I want to thank a couple people who helped me on this beautiful journey at Atlantic Cape. I want start with Ms. Gwen McIntyre, who was my ESL professor. She was not just a professor. She was a mentor who taught me how to present myself in front of others and has prepared me for the real world. I want to thank my professors Richard Perello, Effie Russell, Rich Russell, Chris Olmeda and Chris Carbone who taught me to believe in myself and how to succeed academically. I want to thank Lisa Givens, who influenced me so much, taught me professionalism and to get up whenever I was down. I can’t express in words how much she helped me during my time with Student Government. She was like a mother to me and shaped nearly every thread of my leadership skills. Joelle Motley for being a friend who I looked up to. I also want to thank all of my friends who helped me every moment, Haniyah Bey, Sahman Sakib, Badrul Ruhin, Oussaynu Dia, Sara One, Juwan Torres and so many more.

Q: What does graduating from Atlantic Cape mean to you?
A: It means a lot to me. As I am a first-generation student, I am proud to be a graduate of Atlantic Cape and I am happy to make my parents proud.

Q: What are your plans after graduating?
A: Hopefully continue my education and complete my bachelor's degree. 

Q: Why did you choose Atlantic Cape?
A: Because it is accessible in every way. Atlantic Cape gives you the opportunity to get your education by helping you with financial aid, advising, resources, looking for classes and more.  They help you no matter what you are going through. 

Q: What opportunities has Atlantic Cape provided you
A: Numerous opportunities including access to quality education, exposure to diverse cultures and ideas, and opportunities for personal growth and development.

Q: Describe the biggest challenge(s) you faced and how you overcame it/them.
A: I had to manage a full-time job and household chores, among other things. This was a significant challenge as I had never had to juggle so many responsibilities before. I had to learn to prioritize my tasks, create a schedule and manage my time effectively. I also learned to ask for help when I needed it, whether it was from my professors, advisors, family or colleagues. Overcoming this challenge taught me valuable skills, such as time management, stress management and the importance of seeking support when needed.

Q: Who would you like to thank for helping you achieve your college or career goals?
A: My family because they have been an invaluable resource though out my college years and their encouragement has helped me stay focused and determined in the face of challenges. Also, my teachers for guidance and support. I have been able to confidently pursue my educational and career goals.

Q: What does graduating from Atlantic Cape mean to you?
A: It is a profound milestone that fills me with a deep sense of pride and accomplishment. As a first-generation student in my family to earn a college degree, this achievement represents breaking generational cycles and opening up new opportunities.

Q: What are your plans after graduating?
A: I am planning to attend a four-year college, keep improving my skills and continue working at Atlantic Cape Community College.

Q: Why did you choose Atlantic Cape?
A: Atlantic Cape had what I was looking for: A place where I can not only develop my skills, but also feel a part of it, even coming from other country. 

Q: What opportunities has Atlantic Cape provided you?
A: Atlantic Cape gave the opportunity to not only learn English as a Second Language, but also learn from every person that I took a class with. It also gave me the opportunity to start my work experience in the Work Study program, which turned into a job in the One-Stop Welcome Center. 

Q: What activities, clubs or sports were you involved with during your time at Atlantic Cape?
A: After speaking with President Dr. Barbara Gaba at a Pizza with the President event, I learned about the Work Study program.

Q: Describe the biggest challenge(s) you faced and how you overcame it/them.
A: The biggest challenges were adapting myself to the English language during the pandemic, remote classes and the death of my beloved grandfather during 2020. I overcome it thanks to my loved ones, their support and by not giving up. While I was taking ESL classes I had to speak to my classmates and practice by text or video call. One day it suddenly came natural to me to speak English.

Q: Who would you like to thank for helping you achieve your college or career goals?
A: My mom, Asuncion, and my wonderful boyfriend, Rolando. They always keep me motivated and focused. They are the pillars in my life. I have overcome my challenges thanks to their support and love. I have to say special thanks to my professors, Matthew Dixon and Cheryl Knowles-Harrigan for always encouraging me and supporting me in my career goals, allowing me to excel to my capabilities, and never letting me give up.

Q: What does graduating from Atlantic Cape mean to you?
A: It means the start of the big career that I have in front of me. I am very excited for what is to come!

Q: What are your plans after graduating?
A: I received a scholarship for Emerson College in Boston and Arcadia University in Glenside, PA. I have also applied to the University of Colorado in Boulder. Though I am undecided, I am leaning towards Emerson College.

Q: Why did you choose Atlantic Cape?
A: I received an NJ Stars scholarship and wanted to save money. I also was not ready to move away for college. 

Q: What opportunities has Atlantic Cape provided you?
A: I found a community that feels like a family, a support system to motivate me and keep me going. I began mentoring where I have been able to help students feel more comfortable with their studies. I also help guide them through Public Speaking and Journalism II classes. I have been a Student Government Association representative for one year, vice-president for two years in the Communication Awards Club, and showrunner for the 2024 Communication Award Show, which has helped me find my voice and use my ideas to benefit students. I was hired for an internship after one of my professors suggested it to me, then started another internship too. These have given me real-world experience in the fields that I am interested in during my fourth semester. I have also been able to write a few articles for the Atlantic Cape Review, which has given me the opportunity to share worthwhile stories and learn more about journalism. 

Q: What activities, clubs or sports were you involved with during your time at Atlantic Cape?
A: Atlantic Cape Review and Communication Awards Club. 

Q: Describe the biggest challenge(s) you faced and how you overcame it/them.
A: I was involved in a bad car accident during my first semester. It was difficult getting back to my "normal self" and it adversely effected how I acted at school. I had a hard time saying two words during class. I didn't care to do my work as much and I missed a lot of school. I struggled to balance my recovery with full-time school and work. I was declining and it was obvious to my peers. My professor and classmates encouraged me to come out of my shell and to get involved. I joined the Communication Awards Club, and although I didn't speak much my first year, I blossomed in my second year. The community I found helped me gain a more positive outlook on what my college career could be here. I honed in on my interests, future plans and school work. I found confidence and learned to embrace all versions of myself. I overcame my anxiety and presented a speech at the Communication Awards Show, where I won Communication Major of the Year Runner Up. I proved to my peers and myself that I was capable. I continued working hard during my third year and left that shell behind.

A: In-person and remote. 

Q: Who would you like to thank for helping you achieve your college or career goals?
A: Professor Keith Forrest and the members of Communication Award Club have helped shape me into who I am today. Professor Forrest curates a safe space that is comforting and supportive in his classes and during his office hours. He encourages students to use their strengths and skills to their fullest potentials while being positive and reassuring. He stands for the students and makes sure our voices are heard. The members of the Communication Awards Club are like a family I know I can count on no matter what. Everyone accepts each other for who they are and pushes them to do their best. My family also has stuck by my side throughout this journey. They have always motivated me to keep pushing towards greater heights. I'm beyond grateful for all of the people in my life who have supported me in the process of achieving this degree.

Q: What does graduating from Atlantic Cape mean to you?
A: I was unsure of my future after graduating high school. I now know that my future is undoubtedly bright, all thanks to Atlantic Cape, who along with the Communication program, have allowed me to flourish, not only academically, but as myself as a whole. I have been blessed with ample opportunity to grow my career and dive deep into all of my interests, while feeling comfortable and part of a community. I would not be who I am today if I had not gone to Atlantic Cape.
