Natasha Marie Corbitt, M.D., Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in pediatric surgery.

She attended Atlantic Cape Community College while attending Oakcrest High School, leveraging her college credits to jump-start her education to Howard University. Dr. Corbitt then earned her medical degree and a doctorate in cellular and molecular pathology at the University of Pittsburgh. She completed a residency in surgery at Vanderbilt University and received advanced training in pediatric surgery through a fellowship at the University of Michigan.

She is the first African American female pediatric surgeon in the United States to hold both an M.D. and Ph.D.

Certified by the American Board of Surgery, Dr. Corbitt joined the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in 2020. Her research interests include biliary atresia, congenital disorders of the hepatobiliary system, and complex pediatric wounds.

Dr. Corbitt is a member of the American Pediatric Surgical Association, the Association for Academic Surgery, and the Pediatric Trauma Society.
