Scholarship Applications Open to Returning Atlantic Cape Students for 2023-24 School Year; Deadline March 6

MAYS LANDING — For returning Atlantic Cape Community College students the opportunity to turn a year’s worth of hard work into a possible scholarship has begun as applications are now being accepted from rising sophomores for the 2023-24 school year.

More than 100 scholarships, with varying financial award amounts, are open to current and returning Atlantic Cape students. Scholarships are available in a variety of majors with varying GPA, residency, financial need and veteran status requirements. Here are some of the scholarships that are available: 

• American Association of University Women Atlantic County Branch Scholarship, $1,000 - for a full-time returning Atlantic County female student pursuing an Associate’s degree
• Arax Mardirosian Memorial Scholarship, $440 - for Education major from Atlantic or Cape May counties
• Cape May National Golf Club Scholarship, $1,000 - preferably for Cape May residents for most majors with minimum 2.5 GPA
• James Callaway Memorial Aid Fund, $600 - for African American Cape May County students with financial needs not covered by financial aid
• Frances Zaberer Memorial Scholarship, $1,900 - for an Academy of Culinary Arts program student with minimum 3.0 GPA
• Gerri Black Creative Writing Scholarship, $500 - for an English or Communication major with minimum 3.0 GPA
• Jamie Crescenzo Memorial Scholarship, $1,500 - for a full-time Criminal Justice major with a financial need
• Miss’d America Education Scholarship, $1,500 - for a full-time student and member of Atlantic Cape’s Pride Club
• PR Council of Greater Atlantic City “Shore Scholarship”, $500 - for a full-time Communication major with minimum 3.0 GPA and financial need who plans to transfer to a baccalaureate Communication degree program
• Restaurant Gala Scholarship, $2,000 - for a second year Academy of Culinary Arts program student with minimum 2.5 GPA and financial need

Each year, Atlantic Cape receives generous donations and raises funds through the Atlantic Cape Community College Foundation to help fund a considerable number of scholarships that are available for both incoming and current students. Last year, Atlantic Cape awarded more than $540,000 in scholarships to new and returning students.

The Student Scholarship Application may be completed online at atlanticcape.edu/scholarship. Application requirements may vary by scholarship and a brief written essay or letter of recommendation may be required for consideration. Scholarships are also available for Phi Theta Kappa at atlanticcape.edu/ptkscholarships.  Students will need to complete the 2022-23 FAFSA application to be considered for any scholarships that are deemed financial needs-based.

The deadline to submit an application to be considered for a scholarship is March 6, 2023 and all returning applicants will be notified electronically of their status by April 2023. Meanwhile, new students are automatically considered for scholarship opportunities after submitting their high school transcript to Admissions and completing their FAFSA. Award notifications are sent to the new student’s Buccaneer email in July.
