Atlantic Cape Board of Trustees honors Buccaneers Archery team at May meeting

MAYS LANDING – The Atlantic Cape Community College Board of Trustees conducted its monthly meeting Tuesday, May 24, at the Cape May County campus. The following motions were approved:
Academic Affairs
- Offering the eSports Option, Business Administration, A.A.S., effective Fall 2022;
- Offering the Advanced and Continuous Studies, A.S., effective Spring 2023.
Grant Activity
- Application and, if awarded, acceptance of $1,437,685 over five years, or $287,537 per year, from the Federal TRIO Program for the Veterans Upward Bound program to recruit, retain, and graduate New Jersey Veterans;
- Application to Congressman Jeff Van Drew’s office to support the BizHub project and, if awarded, acceptance of a grant of $1,000,000 over five years.
Contracts and Purchases
- Bid 1862 B Mays Landing Campus Pumping Station Improvements, Chapter 12 Funded, Midatlantic Construction & Design Associates, Inc., Trenton, NJ, $955,000.00;
- Bid Exempt 972 Website Chatbot Renewal, Community College Opportunity Grant (CCOG) (Grant Funded), Ivy.ai, Inc., Boulder, Co., $35,443.00;
- Bid Exempt 973 Repairs for Aviation Program Aircrafts, Big Sky Aviation, Millville, NJ, $22,000.00 (Minimum).
Personnel Matters
- The appointment of Nakiya Darden, Senior Clerk, Finance, effective May 25, 2022;
- The appointment of William Ritchie, Manager, Cape May Campus Operations, effective June 7, 2022;
- The appointment of Suzanne Haggerty, Manager, Donor Database, Online Donation Platforms, and Prospect Research, effective July 5, 2022;
- The promotion of Chris Vallese to the position of Technical Solutions Engineer effective May 25, 2022;
- The promotion of Automne Bennett to the position of Senior Manager, Financial Aid, effective May 25, 2022;
- The resignation of Rick Anzelone, Senior Director, Facilities and Security, effective May 17, 2022;
- The retirement of Michelle Andrews, effective June 1, 2022;
- The retirement of Rhonda Petruzzi, effective June 1, 2022.
Financial Matters
- FY22 Financial Statement for ten months ended April 30, 2022;
- Tuition and Fee Schedule for FY23, incorporating the Radiologic Technology Course Fees.
Other Matters
- Honorary commendation to the Atlantic Cape Buccaneers Archery team for their perseverance, success, and leadership on the 50th year of the team’s founding;
- Approved the observance of the Juneteenth holiday on Monday, June 20, 2022;
- Grant the College President the authority to amend the current Emergency Operations Plan in accordance with New Jersey Statue 18A:3B-69 and review, update and submit the College’s Emergency Operations Plan in subsequent years.
The next meeting of the Atlantic Cape Community College Board of Trustees is scheduled for 6 p.m. June 28, 2022, at the Mays Landing campus.
