MAYS LANDING – Enrollment is open for Atlantic Cape Community College’s fall Workforce Development and Continuing Education programs, which this year includes several new offerings in in-demand fields.

Atlantic Cape offers a variety of certification, certificate, and professional training programs to meet the needs of individuals and businesses in Atlantic and Cape May counties.

Individuals interested in culinary arts can obtain nationally recognized certification as a Certified Fundamentals Cook. The new program helps prepare students for a successful career as a professional cook through hands-on courses focused on the mastery of cooking principles and practical techniques.

The new Certified Clinical Medical Assistant program will help train a new wave of healthcare professionals.

Medical assistants are highly trained individuals who perform various administrative and clinical duties in primary care and specialty physicians, urgent care centers, and other healthcare facilities like taking medical histories, recording vital signs, and assisting the physician during exams.

Students completing all course requirements will be eligible to sit for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Clinical Medical Assistant and Phlebotomy Technician certification exams. The American Heart Association BLS for Health Care Professionals certification is also provided during the program.

Another new offering this fall is New Jersey Medical Cannabis Dispensary Training, an online course that covers laws and regulations, cultivation basics, how products are made, and more.

Atlantic Cape can also customize professional development courses tailored to specific business needs. Other programs are available in areas including computers, technology, and IT certifications, casino gaming, culinary arts, healthcare, and many others.

This year, programs are offered in-person, online, and hybrid, making them both safe and convenient. Additionally, Atlantic Cape has grant funds available to assist those who have been affected by the pandemic. Career training programs over 600 hours may also be eligible for financial aid.
