Atlantic Cape Community College’s prestigious Academy of Culinary Arts was recently  re-accredited by the American Culinary Federation Education Foundation’s Accrediting Commission (ACFEFAC) for three of its programs: Associate Degree in Culinary Arts, AAS Degree in Baking and Pastry, Certificate in Baking and Pastry.

All three programs also received an “Exemplary” award, which is the premium educational standards recognized by the ACFEFAC. Programs awarded proved fully compliant with all ACFEFAC accreditation requirements and demonstrated excellence in program management. The Academy of Culinary Arts at Atlantic Cape is one of only three ACF accredited colleges in the state, and the only one located in South Jersey.

“This accreditation reaffirms to current and future students that our Culinary Arts program not only meets the rigorous standards set forth by the American Culinary Federation, but surpasses them,” Atlantic Cape President Barbara Gaba said. “As the Academy enters its 40th anniversary, we are proud to continue to provide top-quality talent to the region’s hospitality industry while continuing to be a leader in Culinary Arts training.”

The current labor crisis, which has significantly impacted the hospitality industry, has created a huge demand for chefs and other culinary-related personnel. Atlantic Cape’s Academy of Culinary Arts educates more culinary students every year than any other school in the state and offers degree and certificate programs that prepare students for careers in the expanding food service and hospitality industries.

The Culinary Academy gives students the option to work toward a degree, take specialized courses, or just develop basic job skills on a full- or part-time basis. This is a great time for those considering careers in the food, beverage, and hospitality fields to invest in their future. To learn more or enroll in classes, visit www.atlantic.edu/aca.
