Duties:
  • Reports to the Assistant Director of Paramedic and EMT Training
  • Adheres to the National Standard curriculum for all lesson planning and instruction
  • Instructs, coordinates, lectures and facilitates the associated skill labs
  • Prepares materials in advance for classroom and scenario lab instruction
  • Oversees and facilitates use of scenario lab computer, Sim Pads and manikins
  • Oversees and instructs students’ scenario lab practice and/or skills testing
  • Debriefs students’ scenarios
  • Identifies and access students cognitive, affective and psychomotor skills that are necessary to function as an Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic
  • Manages classroom activities, grades, and attendance
  • Provides guidance and problem solving regarding student behavior and performance issues
  • Refers students for appropriate services
  • Evaluates students to determine intervention needs
  • Maintains student confidentiality
  • Related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Associate’s degree preferred
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Certified New Jersey Paramedic or Registered Nurse with current New Jersey MICN certification or licensed physician with emergency medical services
  • Knowledge of the National Standard Curriculum requirements for NREMT-P exam
  • Teaching experience preferred
  • Ability to instruct didactic, scenario and skills labs
  • NREMT-P certification preferred
  • Instructor certifications preferred (ACLS, PALS, PHTLS)
  • Proficient in in all forms of computer technology
  • Ability to use Microsoft PowerPoint
  • good communication skills.
