Duties:
  • Reports to the Director, Financial Aid and Veterans Affair
  • Manages all Return of Title IV fund according to federally mandated regulations and timeframes, including calculations, change of enrollment, lifetime eligibility (LEU) and unusual enrollment history (UEH)
  • Tracks all official and unofficial Financial Aid student withdrawals, drops and non-attendance and ensures all aid adjustments are calculated accurately
  • Monitors federal rules and regulations regarding Return of Title IV and attends training and online courses to ensure compliance
  • Researches and monitors the development of Title IV Return regulations and participates in writing and updating college policies procedures to ensure compliance
  • Monitors and interprets student financial aid trends and makes recommendations for process and communication improvement
  • Assists in the development of financial aid enrollment management strategies and tracks students in the financial aid process to help maximize student financial aid process completion
  • Serves as departmental lead for the student verification process (Federal and State) and updates directors regularly on status of verifications
  • Monitors the report of students selected for verification to track departmental progress in verification completion providing regular status updates to director
  • Performs student verifications and follows up with those who have incomplete verification information
  • Obtains, tracks and manages all information required by the Federal Department of Education (DOE) for dependency overrides and unusual enrollment history (UEH), serving as primary contact for each
  • Reviews and processes submitted material from students and renders federal professional judgement assessments, including but not limited to family court decisions, death certificates, clergy letters, police and FYFS reports
  • Manages information provided by financial aid applicant and determines the need for additional documentation following established procedures for verification and packaging students
  • Monitors federal and state rules and regulations regarding student verifications and attends training and online courses to ensure compliance
  • Researches and monitors the development of federal and state verification regulations and participates in writing and updating college policies and procedures to ensure compliance
  • Assists current and prospective students with the delivery of financial aid, verification, student packaging, awarding, disbursement, budget components, application process, satisfactory academic progress, dependency overrides, professional judgment/special circumstances
  • Serves on college-wide committees
  • Writes and runs query reports
  • Prepares recommendations for further documentation needed to maintain college’s compliance
  • Manages, coordinates and implements special events to support public relations goals, develops PowerPoints and publications
  • Conducts presentations on or off campus relating to financial aid including but not limited to recruitment and community events, high school nights, student orientations and open houses in both Atlantic and Cape May Counties
  • Serves as liaison between the Academy of Culinary Arts and Financial Aid
  • Serves as back-up to Scholarship Manager
  • Performs related duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5 years Financial Aid experience including knowledge of financial aid regulations, Title IV compliance and programs
  • 3 years experience with Return of Title IV aid
  • Knowledgeable in all aspects of the financial aid process
  • Strong problem-solving and analytic skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Sensitivity to the needs of a diverse student population
  • Excellent public speaking abilities
  • Computer literacy to include Microsoft Office products and Financial Aid information systems
  • Knowledge of Ellucian’s Colleague information system preferred
  • Knowledge of Award Spring a plus
  • Ability to work independently

This position requires flexible scheduling to include evenings and weekends and duties at any Atlantic Cape Community College location.
