PT Science Lab Assistant

Duties:
  • Reports to the Assistant Director, Science Labs
  • Maintains lab inventory
  • Meets with supervisor and co-workers to discuss daily procedures, issues and ideas
  • Reports problems to the assistant director
  • Meets with faculty to identify their laboratory needs
  • Keeps labs, prep areas, stock rooms and greenhouse areas organized and in good condition for efficient and safe use
  • Maintains and cleans laboratory glassware, equipment, cabinets, shelves, animal cages, etc.
  • Preps laboratory carts
  • Ensures labs are clean and supplies are in lab in advance of start time
  • Makes preparations for visiting groups
  • Monitors security of lab equipment
  • Related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Associate’s degree in Science.
  • Science lab experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of science lab equipment, materials and safety practices. 
  • Good organizational skills. 
  • Able to lift 70 pounds and use step ladder or ladder. 
  • Computer literacy. 
  • Able to handle dissection specimens. 
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Valid driver’s license.
This position may require flexible scheduling to include evenings and weekends and duties at any Atlantic Cape location.
