Reporting to the Assistant Director of the Educational Opportunity Fund Program, provides assistance and support to prospective and current students.

EOF Recruiter/Career Advisor

Salary: $15 per hour up 26 hours per week
Duties:
  • Maintains database of all prospective EOF students
  • Recommends new students to the EOF Director for funding and summer institute
  • Plans and, as needed, accompanies the Admissions team at recruitment events designed to inform, attract, and recruit new economically disadvantaged students in the community and on campus such as high school Back-To-School nights, Financial Aid seminars, Welcome Back days, Open House events, Jump Start and other recruitment/registration activities
  • Assists perspective students in the completion of financial aid forms and acquiring needed verification of financial eligibility for EOF
  • Arranges and conducts on-campus tours for prospective students (including evening tours)
  • Assists with advisement and registration
  • Assists students with making informed career/degree program decisions utilizing resources in the college Career Centers, individually and in group settings
  • Facilitates workshops/seminars to assist students in making informed career/degree program decisions, preparing for the job search, and transfer assistance
  • Performs duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
  • Associate degree with recruitment or advisement experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Demonstrated experience working with a diverse population
  • Experience working in Higher Education setting preferred
  • Experience working with student groups preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
  • Ability to conduct small and large group meetings and workshops
  • Experience working with students preferred
  • Ability to flourish in a team environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to flourish in a team environment
  • Knowledge of Ellucian’s Colleague management information system a plus
Terms of Employment:
  • This position requires flexible scheduling to include evenings and weekends and duties at any Atlantic Cape location.
