Student Information for Commencement
Commencement will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. on the Mays Landing campus. This year's Keynote speaker is Steven P. Perskie, former New Jersey Superior Court Judge in Atlantic County.
Board of Trustee Representative
One member of the graduating class is eligible to serve a one-year membership on the college’s Board of Trustees. This student will share the student's perspective as policies and decisions are made to guide the college. The elected student will be seated in July 2023 and will serve until the following June 2024. The representative must be available to attend monthly Board meetings in person if scheduled in that format.

Process for Graduation
To apply for graduation, complete the graduation application online through Self Service (formerly WebAdvisor)/SelfServ.
If you earned credits from another accredited college or university be sure to have an official copy of your transcript(s) sent to Atlantic Cape for evaluation. You can view your records on Self-Service to verify those courses have been evaluated and added to your records. If transfer courses are missing, please contact the Enrollment Services Office at transcripts@atlantic.edu or call (609) 343-5005.
Log into your Self-Service account to complete the degree audit application.
- Click on “Students”
- Click on “application for graduation”
- Complete the online form
- The college has waived the fee for the graduation application made possible by the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund. To take advantage of this opportunity your Graduation Application must be submitted by March 31, 2023.

Once your application is received, the Enrollment Services office will complete your degree audit. You will be notified via your Buccaneer email account regarding your eligibility for graduation. Students who have to complete more than two courses or have a grade point average (GPA) below 2.0 are not eligible for graduation and subsequently will not be permitted to participate in commencement ceremonies.
Caps, Gowns, and Honor Stoles
Caps, gowns, and honor stoles can be ordered and paid for Online. The start date for ordering is Monday, February 20, 2023. The cost for a cap, gown, and tassel is $48.00, and an extra tassel is $7.00. The cost for the honor stole, including a red tassel, is $31.00. See "Honors Criteria" below for eligibility.
Purchases after Friday, March 31st must be made in person at the Bookstore on the Mays Landing campus. The last day for ordering in person is April 21, 2023. Caps and gowns may be picked up at the Bookstore with your receipt after Monday, April 21st. Caps and gowns will not be ordered or sold after Friday, May 5, 2023.
If you already purchased or borrowed (within the past two years) a cap and gown, you must notify the Enrollment Services office that you'll be participating or you will not be included in the ceremony, 609-343-5644, 609-463-4774, ext. 5644 or amilliga@atlantic.edu.

Honors Criteria
You MUST fall under one of the criteria below using your Fall 2022 CGPA to be eligible to wear an honor stole. Spring 2023 grades are not used.
You are eligible for honors if:
- You enrolled at Atlantic Cape before Fall 1994 and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or above.
- You enrolled at Atlantic Cape during or after Fall 1994 and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or above.
How Do I Get My Diploma
After your degree audit (graduation application) has been evaluated and you have been certified as a graduate, your diploma will be ordered and mailed to you.
