Based on the state and local reopening orders and our concern about conducting classes in a safe environment, Atlantic Cape will offer the majority of courses for the Fall 2020 semester in a remote learning format. We have four possible course options for this upcoming semester that meet state safety guidelines and will provide you a supportive and collegiate learning experience.

Remote learning is a way to stay connected with your professors while they guide you through your coursework. You will meet on the same days and times on your schedule and can include group meetings with your classmates. It will be a unique learning opportunity and will prepare you for the future of higher education.

Online classes use Blackboard Learn to receive lessons and assignments from your professor and to turn in your work. These are guided courses set by your professor and must be completed within the individual professor’s timeline.

On-campus classes are limited for your protection. Courses including STEM or the Academy of Culinary Arts will meet and adhere to safety protocols. We ask that when you are on any campus at Atlantic Cape to observe social distancing at all times and wear a mask.

Hybrid courses are a combination of the above formats.

Atlantic Cape has enacted numerous safety protocols in order to keep visitors safe. These measures include but are not limited to:

  • Sanitizing frequently touched surfaces and common areas
  • Implementing hand sanitizing stations across each of our 3 campus locations
  • Installing plexiglass barriers between staff and visitors for transactions
  • Social distancing and mask requirements for our campus locations
  • Remote learning/work opportunities and staggered schedules to reduce the amount of people on campus

To see the full list of precaution, view our safe reopening plan which was reviewed and approved by the state of New Jersey and is in accordance with all local and federal guidance for mitigating the risk of COVID-19.

Fall Restart Plan

We are only allowing a limited amount of classes and student services to be on campus. Please call ahead and set an appointment with the department you are visiting. If you plan on visiting campus, make sure you follow the guidelines on the Safe Campus Operations Page

Masks are required on all Atlantic Cape campus locations. These guidelines are set forth by the CDC and by the state of New Jersey. Masks should also be worn on campus grounds whenever social distancing is not possible, per Governor Murphy's orders. This is for the safety of yourself and for others.

*If you have a medical condition that prevents you from wearing a mask, then an exemption will be made. Please contact the Security Office upon your arrival to campus.

Social Distancing should be observed at all times when at Atlantic Cape. According to the CDC, masks are not a substitute for social distancing and both should be observed whenever possible in order to reduce the risk of transmission. There will be signage and reminders posted on campus to remind you to maintain social distancing.

Yes, but due to the pandemic, the majority of the activities will either be off-campus or online.

No, but there is sandwiches and snacks available through our vending machines.

Digital library resources can be accessed 24/7 remotely.  There are reference sources for getting started, e-books on all topics, databases for finding articles, and subject guides with resources for many fields of study.

You are also able to contact a librarian 7 days a week by emailing

Tutoring services are also available 24/7. Get help understanding your classes and completing your assignments. Log in to Blackboard Learn then select “Tutoring Services” and “Online Tutoring”. Tutoring services are completely FREE to currently enrolled students. Questions? Email

During the Fall term, limited in-person library services will be available.

A full schedule of in-person classes will ONLY resume after state and federal guidelines indicate that it is safe to do so. For the Fall 2020 semester only a limited amount of in-person classes will be held on campus including courses that require hands-on labs, like culinary, health sciences, and other related courses. Local transmission rates are being monitored closely and we will make more announcements as we get closer to the Winter and Spring Semesters.

The best way to ensure that in-person classes resume sooner rather than later is to make sure you play your part to reduce the transmission of COVID-19 and limit you personal exposure whenever you are able to.

The bookstore is currently closed for in-person transactions, textbooks and other supplies can be ordered online. Shipping is FREE. The hours for the bookstore are set independently by Follett. Please check their website to place an order or to check for any updates to their hours.

In Fall campus operations will resume on a limited basis and in-person advising appointments will be available. We recommend scheduling a virtual advising appointment, whenever possible, in order to limit the amount of people on campus. If you decide that an in-person appointment is better for you, you may visit one of our campuses. Advising can be reached at

Atlantic Cape will provide loaner computers and cameras to students who need them for the Fall 2020 semester. If you are in need of a loaner computer to do your classwork, please email with your name, student ID, email and phone number.

If you need access to Wifi at your home, please contact and we will help you decide on the best Wifi resource for this semester.
