There’s still time to register a four-person team to participate in the 2018 Atlantic Cape Community College Scramble “Fore” Scholarships golf tournament, Friday, Oct. 12, at the Cape May National Golf Club.

Registration begins at 10 a.m., followed by a scramble format, with a shotgun-start at 11:30 a.m.

Player fees, which include a complimentary gift, lunch and awards dinner, are $150 per person or $500 per foursome. Golfers can participate in a variety of skills challenges, including closest-to-the-pin and longest drive contests. Individuals and businesses can also support the event through sponsorship opportunities ranging from $150 to $5,000. Last year’s tournament raised over $40,000 for student aid and Foundation operations.

An awards dinner, catered by the historic Chalfonte Hotel in Cape May, will follow at 5 p.m. For dessert, Atlantic Cape’s Academy of Culinary Arts students will prepare a variety of decadent treats. Tickets to the awards dinner only are $50 and can be purchased online at www.atlantic.edu/golf.

A variety of raffle prizes will be available, including an overnight stay and dinner at Congress Hall in Cape May; gift cards to The Lobster House, Beach Creek Oyster Bar & Grille, Whalen’s Auto Repair, and White House Subs; a foursome at Atlantic City Country Club and The Shore Club; an overnight stay with dinner at the new Hard Rock Hotel Atlantic City and more.

Roman Osadchuk, event co-chair, said, “Each year, I look forward to this event and exceeding our goal. Last year’s event raised over $40,000 for Atlantic Cape scholarships, our highest grossing tournament in the history of this event. The players love this excellent course and enjoy the well-planned events throughout the day including the wonderful dinner provided by the event’s host and the incredible desserts created by the students from the Academy of Culinary Arts.”

This year, Osadchuk and co-chair Charles Pessagno hope to exceed last year’s fundraising efforts. Pessagno stated, “Our goal is reached by getting the community involved; their investment enables the Atlantic Cape Foundation to continue to provide scholarships to our local students who need it most.”

Atlantic Cape established the Foundation in 1978 as a 501(c)3 nonprofit charity to build a broad base of financial support for its programs and services. Foundation members are drawn from local industry and small businesses and represent a broad cross-section of active leaders in the community. The Foundation has raised more than $5 million for scholarships, Foundation operations and to enhance academic programs and the campus environment. Annually, the Foundation provides nearly $500,000 for institutional scholarships, grants and emergency help.
