Atlantic Cape Offers New, Free Virtual Assistant: Social Media Marketing Program; Information Session Being Held Aug. 23

Atlantic Cape Community College’s Workforce Development Division is offering a new 380-hour training program, “Virtual Assistant: Social Media Marketing,” for free to those who have been unemployed or underemployed for at least six months and qualify under the Ready to Work New Jersey guidelines, beginning Sept. 11.

The training program will teach participants the marketing fundamentals and skills necessary to be a successful social media marketing professional. The social media marketing module of the program prepares participants with the skills to understand marketing fundamentals, align content types to specific marketing goals, use keywords to connect to an audience, boost social media through influencers and effectively use hashtags. The virtual assistant focus of the program provides instruction on the key elements needed to prepare and market one’s self to work remotely for employers and clients.

“This program is the perfect opportunity for participants to gain the skills to work for an employer from home or to begin working as an independent contractor,” said Sherwood Taylor, director of Workforce Development at Atlantic Cape.
